One of the great advantages of being an organisation with people in (almost) every continent is that P2PU has a unique global spread. From San Francisco to Sydney, members of the P2PU community have been able to speak about the project at various workshops, seminars, conferences and other gatherings and spread the word about the P2PU experiment.
This kind of interaction is invaluable for a project like P2PU. It’s a fantastic way to meet new people and recruit new course organisers and participants. It puts us in contact with some of the movers and shakers in the OER field from all over the world, and allows us to see how P2PU could be adapted and used in different countries which have different educational needs.
In the last year, P2PU has been presented at the following events (this list is by no means exhaustive, feel free to add to it in the comments)
Open Education Conference, 2009, Vancouver, Canada
Open Courseware Consortium Meeting, Monterrey, Mexico
The Geek Retreat – Stanford, South Africa
Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, India
Open Knowledge Conference, London, UK
Open University UK (Open Learning Network) virtual workshop
CC Salon San Francisco, USA
